NomadPulse ("we", "us", or "our") operates the NomadPulse mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our app.
Account Information: When you register, we collect your username, display name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash). If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID and optionally your name.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide a bio, profession, skill tags, and profile photo.
Location Data: With your permission, we use your location to show nearby cafes, validate check-ins and reports, and support auto-checkout when you leave a checked-in cafe. Your current location may be stored while your presence is active and is updated or cleared as you check out.
User-Generated Content: We collect cafe reports (seating, outlets, atmosphere, Wi-Fi speed), cafe additions, check-in/check-out times, profile fields, waves, and messages you send through the app.
Device and Notification Data: If you enable push notifications, we store an Expo push token so we can send seat alerts, departure reminders, waves, messages, and weekly recaps.
Analytics and Diagnostics: We collect limited product analytics and crash diagnostics to improve reliability. Analytics events use an allowlist and do not include raw GPS coordinates, email addresses, raw messages, or push tokens.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your public profile information (display name, profession, status, skill tags, and bio) may be visible to other NomadPulse users or public profile links depending on your activity and settings. Cafe reports may appear with your public identity unless you enable hide-attribution in Profile. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit (TLS). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. When you delete your account, all your personal data, reports, messages, badges, and other associated data are permanently deleted from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
NomadPulse is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
